What next?

Image
Now that MPD Heats have been over for a couple of weeks it's time to figure out what I'm going to start working on next? After the heats I've pretty much been eating non stop, it's taking it's toll though, I know I've put some of the weight I lost back on and I feel pretty gross all the time, I pretty much haven't stopped eating since I walked off stage! My Birthday being the Monday after MPD gave me the perfect excuse to indulge, I've had cupcakes and chocolate and McDonalds and Pizza, all those yummy things that I thought I'd missed while I was dieting and now they just seem to leave me feeling sick. I did however enjoy my first ever bowl of curried sausages and rice for the year the Tuesday after. Anyone who knows me well knows how much I love my mum's curried sausages so it great day when we had that for dinner, I practically inhaled it!! I think my indulging has also affected my skin (not just the fact that I've had a massive break o...

THANK YOU!!!!!!

So now that MPD Heats are over and the Wild cards for the Final on November 10th have been announced, there are a few people I need to thank. Georgia Moon - for taking the idea that was hidden in my head somewhere, and making it a reality.. the most AMAZING costume I have ever owned. You are a genius! Slynk, for mixing my music, after my hours of attempting to do it myself ended up as a massive fail. It was perfect! My Family, for not complaining to much about me being so absent this year, having only Sunday's to train on MPD related things by myself meant I missed out on a lot of family get togethers. Thank you for always being so supportive of me, not just for this journey but for my general love of pole.  Mum, Dad and my sister Caitlin, thanks for putting up with me and what can only be described as my neurotic behaviour over the last 8 months. I haven't been the most pleasant person over that 8 months... but you still love me right? Kylie and Case! Thanks ...

Miss Pole Dance Australia NSW Heats!!

So I know I haven't posted in a while, but the last couple of weeks have been pretty busy with MPD preparations etc. But now it's all over and MY GOD WAS IT FUN!! Lucky me got to have the Wednesday, Thursday before the comp and the Friday of the comp off work!! YAY for sleeping in! Having the time off work was probably one of the best things I did. I got to go into the studio on Wednesday and run through my routine once more as well as practice in my costume. Which was my main concern. There were a lot of different parts to my costume and I really needed to make sure that I practiced taking each bit off so that it all looked seamless. I actually had a pretty shitty run though on Wednesday, and a few of the times that I practiced in my costume I struggled getting bits of it off.  bit of pre show fun with Sparx she loves a good boob grab Thursday I got my extensions re-taped, and the hair tinsel put in my hair and a spray tan. Then went home and made a list of the things ...

ONE WEEK TO GO!!!

Image
HOLY SHIT! How did it get to be a week before the heats already? So far everything is going pretty well, I'm over my cold and feeling great, saw my osteo yesterday and got my shoulder and rib looked at and my back and neck cracked!!  Picked up my amazing costume last week!! AHH IT'S SO AWESOME I LOVE IT!! It's sparkly and beautiful and beyond anything I could have imagined, worth every single cent I paid for it!! When Georgia sent me through the picture when she was finished I squealed like a girl (I was at work at the time) and almost burst into tears!!  I was so excited when I picked it up I may have worn part of it on the drive home hahaha :)  I can't wait till after it's over so I can post up pictures so everyone can see it!! Sorry but no photo's or hints before Friday night, I want it to be a surprise!! I also managed to put the finishing touches on my routine on Sunday and do the whole thing in full without dying! so that's a relief. So I ha...

Training, Training, Training.

Image
Right now it feels like my life is work, train, eat, sleep, repeat. Not that I'm complaining, I actually love it, not so much the work part though, work seems to get in the way of all the fun stuff that I want to do. Unfortunately work is a necessary evil so that I can pay for all the pole and sparkly things I love so very much. Back to the point.  My skinless shin Sunday is when I do pretty much all of my training, because of work (see pesky work ruining my fun again!) I can't make it to any other practice times. This Sunday I got to the studio at about 10:30am.... four hours later I had my routine pretty much finished (just a few little tweeks here and there) and a hunk of skin missing from my right shin.. OUCH!! How did I manage that? just doing a spinning climb, nothing to special (it's actually not the first time I've ripped skin off my shin doing to much pole in a day). Its' about 3cm long and 2 cm wide, which doesn't sound like it's that b...

Haters gunna hate

Image
So the other morning Cleo updated her status showing a comment that was left on the video of her winning routine from Miss Pole Dance Australia 2012/2013 on YouTube and it got me thinking about all the nasty comments that people write on photo's and videos on the internet.  Cleo's Facebook Status It's so easy to hide behind a computer and write exactly what you think about someone else's video or photo etc, and forget that the video is of an real person, with real feelings who will see the horrible things that you wrote.  Though what was written on Cleo's video wasn't the worst comment I've heard about or seen on YouTube but still, this person didn't really need to make a comment about her " tacky underpants and face" (FYI they're called hotpants), they really could have just written the nice part about her flexibility and drive to be creative. Seems as though no one taught this person that if you haven't got anything nice to say ...

"The Bobbi"

Image
Originally I was just going to share a link to an interview with Bobbi that I came across on Facebook, but decided that not only would I do that, but it would be a perfect opportunity for me to gush about one of my favourite pole dancers. So bear with me. this could go on for a while. I remember the first time I ever saw Bobbi, I was in the lift at the the old studio, when the doors opened on level four there she was, I was with a friend of mine at the time, and after I picked my jaw from the floor I elbowed her in the ribs (possibly quite hard) and as we got out I turned to her, completely star struck and said, OMG did you see her? THAT WAS BOBBI!! It was like I'd seen a celebrity I was that excited! Before I go any further I should explain, when this happened I was in Intermediate One, and didn't spend quite as much time at the studio as I do now. I knew there was a Bobbi, I'd seen photos, I think I may have even had a DVD by this stage, but I'd never seen her i...
