The Joy of Dance PoleandAerial.com Video Competition

Image
Going through my emails last night I came across an one from  PoleandAerial.com  that caught my attention, probably because it had FELIX CANE in the subject line.  I opened it up and inside was this, the story of Felix's first time back on the pole after her accident a few years ago, along with details of a video competition that PoleandAerial.com are running. I would love to enter, and if I get the chance to video something and submit it I will, but either way I think it's such a lovely idea.  Entries are open now,  for more information head to their Facebook page:  https://www.facebook.com/poleandaerial   Billie xxx

THANK YOU!!!!!!

So now that MPD Heats are over and the Wild cards for the Final on November 10th have been announced, there are a few people I need to thank. Georgia Moon - for taking the idea that was hidden in my head somewhere, and making it a reality.. the most AMAZING costume I have ever owned. You are a genius! Slynk, for mixing my music, after my hours of attempting to do it myself ended up as a massive fail. It was perfect! My Family, for not complaining to much about me being so absent this year, having only Sunday's to train on MPD related things by myself meant I missed out on a lot of family get togethers. Thank you for always being so supportive of me, not just for this journey but for my general love of pole.  Mum, Dad and my sister Caitlin, thanks for putting up with me and what can only be described as my neurotic behaviour over the last 8 months. I haven't been the most pleasant person over that 8 months... but you still love me right? Kylie and Case! Thanks ...

Miss Pole Dance Australia NSW Heats!!

So I know I haven't posted in a while, but the last couple of weeks have been pretty busy with MPD preparations etc. But now it's all over and MY GOD WAS IT FUN!! Lucky me got to have the Wednesday, Thursday before the comp and the Friday of the comp off work!! YAY for sleeping in! Having the time off work was probably one of the best things I did. I got to go into the studio on Wednesday and run through my routine once more as well as practice in my costume. Which was my main concern. There were a lot of different parts to my costume and I really needed to make sure that I practiced taking each bit off so that it all looked seamless. I actually had a pretty shitty run though on Wednesday, and a few of the times that I practiced in my costume I struggled getting bits of it off.  bit of pre show fun with Sparx she loves a good boob grab Thursday I got my extensions re-taped, and the hair tinsel put in my hair and a spray tan. Then went home and made a list of the things ...

ONE WEEK TO GO!!!

Image
HOLY SHIT! How did it get to be a week before the heats already? So far everything is going pretty well, I'm over my cold and feeling great, saw my osteo yesterday and got my shoulder and rib looked at and my back and neck cracked!!  Picked up my amazing costume last week!! AHH IT'S SO AWESOME I LOVE IT!! It's sparkly and beautiful and beyond anything I could have imagined, worth every single cent I paid for it!! When Georgia sent me through the picture when she was finished I squealed like a girl (I was at work at the time) and almost burst into tears!!  I was so excited when I picked it up I may have worn part of it on the drive home hahaha :)  I can't wait till after it's over so I can post up pictures so everyone can see it!! Sorry but no photo's or hints before Friday night, I want it to be a surprise!! I also managed to put the finishing touches on my routine on Sunday and do the whole thing in full without dying! so that's a relief. So I ha...

Training, Training, Training.

Image
Right now it feels like my life is work, train, eat, sleep, repeat. Not that I'm complaining, I actually love it, not so much the work part though, work seems to get in the way of all the fun stuff that I want to do. Unfortunately work is a necessary evil so that I can pay for all the pole and sparkly things I love so very much. Back to the point.  My skinless shin Sunday is when I do pretty much all of my training, because of work (see pesky work ruining my fun again!) I can't make it to any other practice times. This Sunday I got to the studio at about 10:30am.... four hours later I had my routine pretty much finished (just a few little tweeks here and there) and a hunk of skin missing from my right shin.. OUCH!! How did I manage that? just doing a spinning climb, nothing to special (it's actually not the first time I've ripped skin off my shin doing to much pole in a day). Its' about 3cm long and 2 cm wide, which doesn't sound like it's that b...

Did someone say Miss Pole Dance Australia??

Image
Since the first time I went to a Miss Pole Dance Australia Final, I've dreamt of entering, and this year, I'm finally doing it, and to be honest it excites and terrify's me all at the same time. I'm no novice when it comes to Pole Comps, I've entered my fair share, I think once Michelle Shimmy, when introducing me before I went on stage, describe me as a bit of a pole comp tart.. She's right, if theres a comp on and I can get there I'll do it. Felix Cane Miss Pole Dance Australia 2006, 2008/09 and 2011 But Miss Pole Dance Australia, for me, is on a whole different level. Competing against girls who a majority of are professional pole dancers, they're teachers and paid professionals, and I find this daunting. At the end of the day I'm just a student, I do 5 pole classes a week and train for a few hours on a Sunday. I guess I feel like a bit of an underdog, and that's fine with me. When I decided last year that I was going to en...
